As she ran her fingers over the spot on the wall she tried to identify the discoloration. Smiling, she realized it was a shadow. The light was back. The light was finally back.
This post is an entry in the Trifecta Writing Challenge. Thirty three words about a new beginning was the ask. How did I do? And you, what would you have said? Come on, throw your hat in ring!
Thanks for reading!
Mary Beth
I will tell you that I could never even enter that challenge. It is not because I lack the ability to write and I am not short on creativity. It would be quite literally impossible for me to write anything with so few words.
My imagination is like gasoline fumes just waiting for a spark at times because I can picture a whole new beginning unfolding with this very short tidbit that you shared. And congratulations!
Dionne!!! Thank you, very much
.
Do u win anything?
No cash prizes Mom but, a lot of people whose writing I enjoy had some lovely things to say about what I wrote and it made me smile from ear to ear. So I guess I did win something after all
.
I like it. Short, but effective. It makes me think of hope.
Thank you Duck. Hope is always the way to go but sometimes I need a little reminder.
very good!
Thank you!
This is great! I’m waiting for the light to come back in the morning so I don’t have to get out of bed in the dark
Ditto, bring on the bright and the mornings where the sun is shining!
You can feel the happy of the light returning! Nice job.
Thank you very much
.
Such a small thing but obviously something important (:
Exactly. (;
This is lovely! So full of promise and hope.
Thank you! I’m glad you like it.
Alaska? A dungeon? Mysterious.
dk
Perhaps a dungeon in Alaska?? Hmm…
A great take on the prompt. A fresh light often leads to a new beginning.
Thank you Mike. It can take some time to see it or maybe for it to appear but, once you realize it’s there, the world opens up. At least that’s how it works for me.
Oh, I love this. Thanks for linking up!
Thank you! Maybe I shouldn’t say this since I wrote it but it’s one of my favorites
. Thanks for another great prompt!
That’s quite vague and interesting. Leaves you asking for more!
I’d love to write an entire story around it and I may just do that! Thank you!
The gift of sight-of light-is so precious!liked this lovely piece:-)
Agreed! …and thank you very much
.
Light after prolonged darkness is beautiful (great metaphor, too
) Great write!
