Perspective

She used to think that the mirror was laughing at her but as she started to see things differently her opinion changed.  Maybe it was simply smiling because it loved what it saw.

This is another big toe dip in the Trifecta Writing Challenge pool.  A thirty-three word example of personification.  It seems an easy ask but that proved to be deceptive…at least for me :) .  Check out their page, throw your hat in the ring and see some other fantastic entries.  Did I just call my entry fantastic?  Sure, if you don’t love yourself, who will!!

    • Thank you and…thank you!! :) I had a hard time with this Challenge and tried so many different versions and settings before this one came to mind and felt like the perfect fit.

    • Janna, I really struggled with this one and just as I was about to give up after writing fifteen of them that didn’t feel right, this came to mind. I thought for sure I would miss the cut off but was so pleased when I didn’t as I was really proud of this one.

And tell your mirror to lighten up :) !

    • Thank you Tom! I barely made the cut off but after writing at least a dozen entries without feeling one was quite right, I came up with this one and it just clicked. I had to rush to get it in but it was worth it and everyone has been so kind. I’m really grateful and proud.
