She used to think that the mirror was laughing at her but as she started to see things differently her opinion changed. Maybe it was simply smiling because it loved what it saw.
This is another big toe dip in the Trifecta Writing Challenge pool. A thirty-three word example of personification. It seems an easy ask but that proved to be deceptive…at least for me
. Check out their page, throw your hat in the ring and see some other fantastic entries. Did I just call my entry fantastic? Sure, if you don’t love yourself, who will!!
It’s worth every bit of silver.
Lovely – beautiful take on personification and love the positive message
Congrats on placing!
Thank you and…thank you!!
I had a hard time with this Challenge and tried so many different versions and settings before this one came to mind and felt like the perfect fit.
Clever use of your 33 words. Just shows what a smile can achieve.
Thank you, very much.
Reminded me of this song, hope you like it:

I like that… Confidence is a wonderful thing!
It can move mountains!
You got this in under the wire – glad you did! I like the idea of the mirror liking my image rather than mocking me….but I don’t think my mirror is that gentle
Janna, I really struggled with this one and just as I was about to give up after writing fifteen of them that didn’t feel right, this came to mind. I thought for sure I would miss the cut off but was so pleased when I didn’t as I was really proud of this one.
And tell your mirror to lighten up
!
Simply smiling… I like that image. I loved what I read.
Me too…it’s an image that has taken me a long time to see
. Thank you!
Lovely idea behind this. Nice one.

I like it a lot, that smiling mirror. Yes, let’s love what we see in that mirror. Nicely done.

Love it! What an uplifting closing line! Glad that you linked up in time. Thanks for sharing that with everyone.
Thank you Tom! I barely made the cut off but after writing at least a dozen entries without feeling one was quite right, I came up with this one and it just clicked. I had to rush to get it in but it was worth it and everyone has been so kind. I’m really grateful and proud.
Oh wow, I love this! So well written and such a great take on the prompt!
Thank you Suzanne, very much!
When you are happy with yourself, everything is better!
Amen Sister, amen.
